"Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night" is a villanelle poem written by the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. The poem is known for its powerful and emotional expression of defiance in the face of death, calamities and the inevitability of mortality.
The poem's title and refrain, "Do not go gentle into that good night," suggest a call to resist passively fading away at the end of one's life, or simply, in difficult circumstances.
