- English:
Hand me that flute, and let us sing,
As singing is surely the secret of existence
For the echo of the flute dwells in eternity.
Tell me, have you, as I, taken the forest,
to be your home, with no limitations?
Have you followed its streams,
Climbed its mountains?
Have you bathed in its fragrance,
And dried yourself in its light?
Have you tried drinking the dawn as a wine,
With cups of divine light?
Have you, as I, sat in midst of an afternoon,
Between the grape vines,
Amongst their hanging clusters,
Like golden chandeliers?
Have you laid asleep the grass at midnight,
With the sky as your covering,
Ascetic/detached to what the future may bring,
And forgetful of what has befallen you?
Won’t you hand me that flute - let us sing!
Let us forget the ailments and cures that circulate us,
For our adventures as humans, are but lines of poetry,
Written,
But Written on Water.
