Ferdowsi was a Persian poet and the author of the Shahnameh (Book of Kings), an epic poem that is considered one of the greatest works of Persian literature. Shahnameh, is an epic poem that chronicles the history of the Persian empire and its mythical past. Comprising over 50,000 verses, the Shahnameh spans the creation of the world to the Arab-Islamic conquest of Persia. It is a repository of Persian mythology, legends, and historical accounts, preserving the cultural heritage of Persia.
