Hafiz of Shiraz, was a Persian poet and mystic who lived during the 14th century. He is considered one of the greatest poets of all time in Persian literature and is highly regarded for his ghazals (lyric poems) that explore themes of love, spirituality, and mysticism.
Hafiz's poetry is often imbued with deep Sufi insights and symbolism, and his verses are celebrated for their beauty, emotional depth, and philosophical wisdom. His work has been widely translated and continues to inspire readers and poets around the world.

O breath of life, help me tonight
That in the morn I make a start.
In my love for you, I will
My self and ego thwart.
