"If You Abandon Me, Then Who?" is a famous line from the Sufi mystic and poet Mansur al-Hallaj. This line is often interpreted as a profound expression of the intimate relationship between the mystic and the Divine, highlighting the idea of complete reliance and unity with God.
Al-Hallaj's poetry and teachings often centered around themes of divine love, unity, and spiritual ecstasy. This particular line captures the essence of the mystic's longing for union with the Divine and emphasizes the idea that once the mystic is absorbed in the presence of God, the concept of abandonment or separation loses its meaning.
Arabic Calligraphy is used to capture Hallaj's poem, shaped as a pair of Anatomical Lungs. Composed in early September 2021.
